This notice explains how Brown Goose Catering uses personal information provided through this website and the technologies used when you visit it.
Who operates this website
Robert Scott, trading as Brown Goose Catering, operates this website. The postal address is Emerald Cottage, Alice Road, Dorchester, DT1 2LL. Privacy enquiries and complaints can be sent to Rob at rob@brown-goose.co.uk.
Enquiries
The enquiry form collects your name, email address, optional phone number and details relevant to your plans. Depending on the enquiry, this may include dates, location, venue type or name, guest numbers, catering preferences and free-text information.
We use enquiry information to answer questions, prepare quotes and organise and provide catering. We rely on our legitimate interests to respond to general enquiries and manage ordinary business correspondence; on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract and performing a contract when preparing a quote or providing booked catering; and on legal obligations where records must be kept for accounting, tax or other legal requirements. The form is not used to add you to a marketing list.
When you send the form, the relevant answers are transmitted through FormSubmit to rob@brown-goose.co.uk. Your email address is used as the Reply-To address. Brown Goose Catering has reviewed and approved this arrangement. The form includes a hidden honeypot field to reduce automated spam and does not currently use a CAPTCHA.
Dietary information
The form allows you to describe dietary requirements. Information linked to an identifiable person could reveal health information or religious beliefs and may therefore need additional protection.
Please provide dietary requirements and the number of meals needed without naming individual guests wherever possible—for example, ‘two gluten-free meals’. If a named person’s details are necessary, provide only what is needed to discuss suitable menu options.
Dietary information is used to discuss suitable menu options and organise and provide the catering you request.
Please do not send medical records or more detail than is needed for the catering enquiry.
Cookies and similar technologies
A fresh-browser check on 24 September 2026 found that this site no longer loaded Meta Pixel ID 26982088351442750. It created no _fbp cookie and no lastExternalReferrer or lastExternalReferrerTime browser-storage entries. Before removal, Meta Pixel had created those items, so they may remain in a visitor’s browser from an earlier visit until the visitor removes them or the browser clears them. Google Analytics ID G-P8H8DQ7GZ3 was also absent and no Google Analytics cookies were created. Framer’s built-in analytics loaded; in the fresh-browser check it did not create cookies or local or session storage.
Who receives information
Framer provides website hosting, assets and built-in analytics. FormSubmit processes the information you send through the enquiry form and forwards it to Brown Goose Catering’s email account. Meta previously received website-usage and technical information through Meta Pixel, which could include information such as IP address, browser details and request timing. Meta Pixel was removed from this site on 24 September 2026.
Retention and deletion
Enquiry information is kept only for as long as it is needed to answer questions, prepare or follow up a quote, organise and provide booked catering, meet accounting or legal obligations, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. What is needed depends on whether an enquiry proceeds and the circumstances of the event.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion or restricted use, and to object to some uses. Send requests or privacy complaints to Rob at rob@brown-goose.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
International processing
Framer states that it may process information outside the UK and European Economic Area, including in the United States, and describes safeguards in its privacy information and data processing terms.
